One of the worlds leading metal recycling companies recovers and recycles all types of metals including: scrap cars; consumer goods; surplus metal from manufacturing processes; ferrous and non ferrous scrap metal; large plant and machinery plus many more.

This renowned worldwide company are more than your average metals scrap yard. Due to their continuous investment into advanced processing technology, they can produce the highest standard of recycled products which are then re-used in manufacturing processes worldwide.

Because of the increased demand for the recycling of automotive waste material, the aforementioned company invited Birds Recycling Solutions to tender for the design, manufacture and installation of 21 off troughing conveyors ranging from 3.5 meters x 600 wide to 33 meters x 1200 wide, to the complete infeed Phase of a new automated Automotive Shredded Residue (ASR) Process Plant.

This was to include designing and manufacturing of a 2 meter diameter x 15 meter long Trommel that would stand 13 meters tall, a Trommel access structure that allowed access to various levels of the infeed process for maintenance, a 22.5 meter x 1200 wide Primary inclined troughing conveyor, a 5.5 meter x 1200 wide fines troughing conveyor that would transfer the fines fragments to a Bivitec vibratory screen feeder that separated the fines into three fraction sizes, 32 – 15, 15 – 6 and 6 - 0. The Bivitec vibratory screen feeder was to be mounted on a bespoke designed Bunker to collect fines fragments of 6 – 0.

The Oversize fragments that would be transferred through the Trommel were to be discharged into a bunker situated below the discharge point of the Trommel.

Birds successfully tendered for the contract and carried out all of the design and manufacturing at its premises based in Long Marston. Installation was completed one month ahead of the agreed schedule and within the quoted price.
